I would like to see an additional column inserted onto the "Task" tab labeled "Date Received" or " Received" displaying the date/time that the work unit was received on the user's machine, similar to the data/time shown for the "Deadline" column. By displaying this column, a user will be able to ascertain that the work units are following the FIFO order of being executed without having to take an extreme length of time to check to properties popup and noting the date/time for each work unit. The new column should have to same properties as the "Deadline" column. |

You could switch to BoincTasks, as that has Received as a user selectable column. |

The object is not to rely on 3rd-party software when I should be able to see it on the BOINC Manager itself. |

FIFO (date received) is the 'natural' display order for tasks in BOINC Manager, unless a column sort is applied (but no actual datetime is shown - that would be nice, for an indication of turnround time). My wish is for an 'unsort' (remove sort) facility - it's getting tedious diving into the Windows registry every time my mouse finger slips... |

The main concern that I have is that even though FIFO is supposed to be the natural order, there seems to be a common thread of how AP(GPU) tasks are being processed. Between 3/18 and 3/20, I received 21 of these work units, but they didn't get processed until over night/early this morning (3/23- 3/24). In the mean time between 3/18 and today there is a constant flow of v8 MB work units in and out of my machine. Normally in the task panel, the progress column is sorted (descending)and only active work units are displayed. If I display all work units, and sort the "Deadline" column (ascending- showing earliest deadline), I don't expect to see work units that have a much later deadline being processed prior to an earlier deadline. With the new column I can ascertain with a much more certainty and much more easily, by comparing the two side-by-side, if there is a scheduling problem that needs to be reported. We've run into this type of situation before and it took quite a lot convincing on my part to prove that there was indeed a scheduling problem with the AP work units. |

As far as I know, there won't be any further changes made to the set up of the present columns in BOINC Manager. Information like this is already available in present BOINC, under the properties of the tasks. |
