On starting BOINC Manager in Kubuntu (Deb/Linux) 6.06, I get "The password you have provided is incorrect. please try again". There was no request for a password on startup.
Client starts from a command prompt.

How do I get Manager to run? Where do I put in a password?

The password is in the file "gui_rpc_auth.cfg". I would change it to something memorable and then restart the computer. After the restart the manager should pick it up automatically, if not you will have to type it in.
