I have bumped into a problem I can't seem to resolve myself: I am running the Debian amd64 unofficial port of Sarge, and I am trying to compile a client that will work 64 bits wide. I am all but configured with the stable version of the client from CVS, but I get an error: WARNING: openGL/GLU/glut not found. The GL, GLU and glut libraries are required in order to build the graphical parts of the BOINC application API library. I have installed freeglut-dev, and all the other OpenGL libs, but can't seem to get beyond this. Is there a pointer I can use that is not shown. This error is driving me nuts. Rob |

I had the same error. I was able to get around it by doing export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib I am getting the same gl errors as here http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=1010 when it tries to make the uppercase app. If I remove that from the Makefile or do ./configure --disable-server everything else compiles fine.
