The most reasonable thing for Cosmology is to turn it off in the Statistics sites.... The Project Web site is 404 Gone.

The best thing for Cosmology is for everyone just to delete it from their Boinc configurations. The web site is gone, as you say, so if people are still getting tasks from it, I can only conclude one thing -- the project owner doesn't give a flying **** about Cosmo@H, so long as people keep doing work for him.

Months of many people trying to pass messages to him about his website have gone unanswered. That includes messages sent to the director of the institute where he now works. Anyway, his website, when it was up, may well have been hacked -- on it, he described himself as a "cosmologist"; that word was a link to Wikipedia, but to "cosmetology", not to "cosmology". If the site wasn't hacked, then it was put there by Dr Milea, so it is just one more suggestion that he doesn't give a damn about those who crunch his data for him.

Einstein has been down for about a half hour - getting this message:
7/15/2024 8:32:16 PM | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Might be a planned outage - hadn't been paying attention to notices.

EDIT: Completed tasks still upload - but reporting completed tasks isn't working.

I can't find the notification but I remember that Einstein mentioned server maintenance for the overnight hours US time. Should be working normal within 8 to 12 hours.

This was posted on Discord as a response from the Admin of ODLK1 on June 28

yesterday I transfer the DB and I find that my upload velocity was of 6GB of data in 1 day.
I used DB backup of the night as to use the innodb files (with latest stte) is much manual works do do, as in PC I did not have the same mysql version of server and it needs to do many tasks
This upload velocity means 30 days to transfer all the BOINC files, but using compression maybe it halver and I hope that upload speed is more high during the night.

From Sebastian - WuProp@home:
BOINC server migration and upgrade
The project will be offline starting at 3:00 PM on August 9th in order to migrate and update the BOINC server.
The operation could last until August 12th

I'm guessing the 3:00 PM he is mentioning would be local time in France... Which would be CEST (UTC+2), so 13:00 UTC.

ODLK1 boinc server status
08/08/2024:

With new server OS the Boinc software did not compile good. It need more time to make it running. However due to holiday period, this cannot be complete until September.

I get SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG message in Firefox, and my clients don't download WUs (Scheduler request failed: SSL connect error) - something is not right with the TLS setup, but i can't report it on the wuprop forums myself - could someone post there about this please?

Microsoft Edge fails too:
The connection for this site is not secure
wuprop.boinc-af.org sent an invalid response.

Vato,
Before I post a message on WuProp just wanted to verify if you still have problems connecting?

I looked at you computer list at WuProp and see 31 of them have contact with the project within the last few hours.

it appears that my cloud instances have made contact, but my local machines all still fail.
I removed an ubuntu 20.04 instance and i can't re-add it either

another win10 machine on firefox 128.0.3 shows PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

local boinc clients are a mixture of win10, win11, android, ubuntu 20.04.6 (x64 + arm), lubuntu 22.04.2 and not a single one of them is working fully

some old machines have master_url http:// - they can talk to server, but not download due to SSL
newer machines have master_url https:// - they can't talk to the server at all

is there some cache of the cert involved here and i am just unlucky it hasn't time out yet?
